HOTEL IN TANGIER – MOROCCO
The land on which we operate has a surface of 9,800 M².
The total constructed area of buildable computable purposes is of 3,217 M² above ground and 625 M² on basement level.
This design is intended to create a building that gives the feeling of a big house or small mansion instead of a hotel, to make it more comfortable from the customer’s point of view. In this case the surrounding landscape is as essential as the same architecture.
SYNOPSIS PROJECT BY THE ARCHITECTS IN MOROCCO:
We are in front of a project in Morocco, consisting of multiple parts in which different vegetation types are inserted.
The architects in Tangier have taken this decision in order to reduce the scale and visual impact that a big hotel can have and present a more welcoming image as a single family residence for guests. The architects have been able to handle these components to express the idea of a big scale to a smaller one. All complex parts are finished with hipped sloping ceramic tile roofs, from the largest to the smallest surface.
Water is a key element in the project, along with vegetation full fill public areas. Different pools acquire organic forms that are opening gaps between the buildings , giving a more natural appearance to the place . This land has not very much split-levels and buildings tend to the horizontality , as far they are fully inserted in the dense vegetation. Related to the architectural design of the typology of rooms, we find ample living areas , with private pools and terraces.
It is an essential part of the project idea to continue transmitting the image of a single family residence despite being a hotel complex in Morocco. The access road towards is through the back of the hotel and the buildings themselves make as visual barrier between the street and public areas, filled with winding paths that get lost between vegetation and water pools.
