At a time when residential architecture seems to be caught between standardization and the search for identity, the Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture studio stands out as a firm voice committed to redefining the codes of contemporary living.

Gentleman, a lifestyle and current affairs magazine, interviews Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson, managing partner of Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture. Together with his partner Diego Macías, they have made the studio a benchmark on the Costa del Sol, Malaga, with proposals that stand out for their close relationship with the client.

The editorial opens with the title “Changing Residential Concepts.” in it´s January/February 2026 edition.

More than just an architecture firm, Gonzalez & Jacobson represents a way of understanding design as a dialogue. Each project is born from actively listening to the client, from the precise interpretation of the needs, aspirations, and lifestyle of those who will inhabit the spaces. This close relationship translates into homes that not only respond to aesthetic and functional criteria, but also reflect a deeply personal identity.

The interview touches on diverse areas that address the philosophy of Gonzalez & Jacobson, its beginnings, emblematic projects: sustainability and bioclimatic solutions, and new technological tools applied to architecture.

“Affection and passion, but perhaps most importantly, we love our work,” affirms Rodolfo Amieva Jacobson. No two projects are alike. There is a fine line that unites them, and those who know the architecture studio in Marbella recognize it. Examples of this: Oasis de Marbella, La Trinidad, and Elviria Hills, an emblematic project of Andalusian architecture connected to its beginnings.

Ultimately, changing residential concepts is not just a statement of intent, but a consolidated practice in each of their projects. An architecture that evolves with its time, but that never loses sight of the essential: people.

Thanks to Gentleman and especially to Ricardo Balbontín for this interview and for being an open window into the Gonzalez & Jacobson architecture studio.
