González & Jacobson Arquitectura has designed the interior architecture and furniture for the remodeling of a Bistro at La Cala Golf Resort in Mijas, Málaga, transforming it into a cozy, fresh, and charming space.
Collaborating with interior designers Sánchez de la Rosa, the project has taken shape, creating an ambiance characterized by a calm atmosphere. The pairing of white and warm wood lends a bohemian touch, seamlessly combined with earthy tones.
Preserving certain elements of the existing architecture, the design modernizes the space by enclosing the patio with an iron structure and glass covering. This not only protects against the elements but also creates a private area featuring a show kitchen connected to the main kitchen. This addition provides a flexible space for thematic or cultural events while serving as a practical extension to the café’s bar.
In the café area, the bar has been redesigned to align with new service flow patterns for staff, maximizing communication with the main dining room. Sliding doors have been added to separate the spaces when needed.
The interior layout introduces warmer, more organic elements to enhance comfort, while the selected color palette adds brightness and freshness. Warm wood and natural fibers bring a welcoming touch, while select finishes introduce a dynamic contrast to maintain the project’s essence.
Key features of the renovation include:
- A glass roof and decorative fabric-lined frames.
- A new bar with warm wood finishes and a white countertop.
- Bistro-style Parisian chairs and leather-upholstered seating.
- Tables in various styles and colors.
- Light-colored ceilings with natural fiber pendant lamps.
The goal of this renovation is to foster greater interaction and connection between people and their surroundings, incorporating green spaces and thoughtful design across the venue.
A Bistro with soul, designed for La Cala de Mijas.
